Pain in the legs, such as with the pelvis, hip or ankle and foot can occur at any age for a number of reasons. The most common cause is from a sports injury. This is due to high impact and repetitive movement from the sports activity. A tendency for the patient to get tight calf muscles and the likelihood of ankle sprains.
An osteopath can assess what is causing your pain or discomfort. We can provide a full assessment and provide treatment and advice for all of the conditions above.
Treatment may include massage, joint mobilisation, stretching and advice on exercises to do at home. As well as treating the ankle and foot we may work on the hips, pelvis and back. Advice may also be given on strapping and footwear and podiatrist recommended if insoles or specialist foot supports are required. You may be referred to your GP if medication or further X-Rays or scans are required.

Peter joined the family practice in 1984 and qualified as an Osteopath in 1993. Since then he Peter has furthered his education by attending Post Graduate Training Courses at the Oxford College of Osteopathy.
